(Before It's News)
We are a mature nation, physically the greatest nation on earth — probably have been for at least the last one hundred years. One that was, to use Lincoln’s immortal phrase, “conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.” But, for the last half century, the practice of human abortion has been the most heinous, bloody, moral blot on that nation that there has ever been. If all men are no longer considered to be — from their conception until natural death — equal before the law in the protection of their most important right, the right to live, the foundations of the American republic are gone. Justice lies moldering in its grave. Our Constitution is a dead letter. The oath of office is a mockery. Our once-fine institutions are a dangerous charade. Neither we nor our posterity can possibly have a future of self-government in liberty. Unless and until this situation is reversed, and our moral basis is fully restored, we are doomed to decline, to penury, to enslavement, to insecurity, to and finally, to tyranny and destruction. All the laws of eternal justice must decree it. It is true, as it has always been since the creation: We reap what we sow. And since we have heartlessly, mindlessly, sown the wind, we must necessarily reap the whirlwind.
