Huawei has launched the Honor Bee along with two other products in India today. The Honor Bee is targeted for the masses as it is an affordable smartphone. Huawei is trying to woo in as many customers as possible with this new entrant in the smartphone market.
1. Design
Huawei has given a complete friendly matt finish to the Honor Bee. This makes the device to have a good grip in hand. Perhaps it isn’t the best looking phone we have in this category but it does get you rid of all the fingerprints and smudges on other plastic made handsets. The overall organic shape of the Honor Bee is geometrically designed so that it is easily held and played around with. The matt finish also gives a smooth touch feeling to the user. Just like in the Huawei Honor 4C, the Honor Bee has also undergone a premium surface treatment. The device feels sturdy.
2. Display
The Honor Bee possesses a 4.5 inch FWVGA display with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. This isn’t the sharpest display but it isn’t a deal breaker if we consider the price of the device. The 16:9 length to height ratio of the display will allow to watch movies easily.
3. Processor
The Huawei Honor Bee is powered by a 1.3 GHz Quad Core processor with 1 GB of RAM to tackle the multi tasking. It also has 8 GB of ROM. The internal storage can be expanded with the help of a micro SD card as this device does support it up to 32 GB.
4. Camera
Sitting at the rear is an 8 MP shooter with dual LED flash. It has various capturing modes like low light performance; snap shot, smile shot, panorama shot and watermark. The Honor Bee does get a front facing camera but it isn’t something exceptional. It is a 2 MP unit which takes decent shots. Huawei has provided a built in barcode reader. Just by scanning over a barcode with the rear camera you can get all the details of the product. This is a good thing for the shopaholics.
Huawei Honor Bee is running Android 4.4 KitKat. Pasted on top of this is Huawei’s own custom UI called Emotion UI 3.0 lite. This UI provides a lot of customisation options to the user. Many users like to use pure vanilla Android but some gets inclined towards a more customisable form of operation system and Huawei’s is one such UI.
In terms of connectivity options the Honor Bee has WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi hotspot, GPS, G-sensor and FM. Its 1730 mAh battery would provide a decent backup. It is available in four different color options – black, pink, blue and white.
