Google Brings YouTube Gaming Service
This Friday, Google claimed that it will be launching a live steaming for service for gamers, YouTube Gaming. Posing threats to Amazon’s famous Twitch Service, YouTube Gaming will be coming on web as well as on smartphones. The service will be focusing more on the needs of gamers and gaming.
In addition to this, it was also mentioned that this website will feature more than 25k games, and will work as a perfect platform to bring videos and live streams together at one place. On YouTube gaming, core game lovers will be able to add newly launched games into their collection, subscribe to different channels, and seek recommendations about new games on the basis of channels and games they’ve been following.
In a blog post, Google highlighted the efficiency of YouTube Gaming and said, “When you want something specific, you can search with confidence, knowing that typing “call” will show you “Call of Duty” and not “Call Me Maybe,”.
Last year, the game centric video streaming service Twitch was acquired by Amazon for nearly 1 billion dollars. Till now, this service has been performing decently with more than 100 million users watching 1.5 million broadcasters every month. But now, with YouTube Gaming, this scenario is likely to change in a short span of time.
Matthew DiPietro from Twitch commented on the YouTube Gaming, “We welcome new entrants into the growing list of competitors since gaming video is obviously a huge market that others have their eye on,” Twitch has been acting actively against Google’s YouTube Gaming, and has also tweeted a welcome message for its competitor,”@YouTubeGaming Welcome Player 2. Add me on Google +. #kappa”. If you haven’t used Twitch yet, “Kappa” is a famous emoticon used by Twitch users to highlight the message sarcasm.
However, despite of all these actions, YouTube Gaming looks firm on its place to take over the Gaming video segment real soon. This service will be rolling out soon on web, smartphones and tablets running Android as well as iOS operating system.
This summer, YouTube Gaming will be coming to US and UK regions to take video streaming towards a whole new level. The app and website of this service will also be previewed at YouTube’s Booth on the E3 show floor from this Tuesday.
