Leading smartphone maker Micromax has launched its first ever 4G enabled smartphone, Canvas Knight 2 at a price of Rs. 16,299. The device offers decent looks and comes with a handful of offers including a free Airtel 4G sim with “4G Double Data offer.” The smartphone packs a rich set of features and will roll into the market coming Wednesday.
When it comes to specifications, Micromax has always packed a decent array of qualities for their buyers. Canvas Knight 2 boasts a 5-inch HD AMOLED display powered by 2GB RAM and an octa-core Snapdragon 615 chipset clocked at a speed of 1.5GHz. Gorilla Glass 3 protection adds further strength to the vibrant and crisp display of this device.
For photography, Canvas Knight 2 features a 13MP rear-facing camera with Sony’s IMX214 CMOS sensor, and 5-megapixel front-facing camera with Omnivision OV5648 technology. The rear camera has also been equipped with LARGAN 5P LENS, while the front-facing camera is equipped with LARGAN 4P lens.
On the connectivity front, Canvas Knight 2 packs standard support with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and GPS connectivity, and 4G capabilities on both sim slots. Available inbuilt storage is yet to be revealed by the company. Though, it will be expandable up to 32 gigs via external microSD card. Micromax has also added a rich set of apps like Cleanmaster, Snapdeal, Apps Center, Chaatz, Quickr and Hotstar into this device.
The device runs Android Lollipop out-of-the box, and packs Cirus Logic Wolfson Stereo WM8998 speakers to deliver excellent music playback and sound quality. The overall performance of this phone is also backed by a long-lasting 2,260mAh battery capable of offering 7 hours of talk time and 335 hours on standby.
Vineet Taneja, the CEO of Micromax Infomatics commented on the launch that, Micromax is launching the next wave of internet by bringing a series of 4G enabled devices to cater diverse needs of Indian buyers. Additionally, he also mentioned that popular Canvas Fire, Unite, and Nitro series will also move towards the next level of 4G LTE capabilities.
