With a rich set of smartphones hitting Indian market, Chinese brand Phicomm has launched Passion 660 smartphone as a perfect competition for Xiaomi’s Mi4i and Asus ZenFone 2. Featuring LTE connectivity and a vibrant display, the new Phicomm Passion 660 will be sold exclusively on Amazon from 9th of this month. The device will come in two variants of Black and white color.
Passion 660 packs a 5-inch full-HD display with a pixel density of 441ppi, protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The device has been powered by a 64-bit octa-core snapdragon 615 chipset, 2GB RAM, and Adreno 405 GPU. It runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat out-of-the box with company’s Expect OS 5.0 polished over the top. The rear camera of Passion 660 is a 13MP shooter featuring Sony IMX214 sensor and f/2.0 aperture, while the front-facing camera is a 5 megapixel shooter featuring BSI sensor and wide view angle for ideal group selfies.
The inbuilt storage on Passion 660 is 16 gigs, and can be expanded up to 64GB via external microSD card. The dual-sim smartphone also encompasses Snapdragon Voice+ Technology and two microphone for an ideal calling experience even in noisy surroundings. The Nano-sim slot of this device is of hybrid nature, and can also be used as a slot for MicroSD card.
Connectivity on this device includes a rich of options with support for 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, microUSB, A-GPS and Bluetooth 4.0. It also packs a rich set of sensors including G-sensor, L-sensor, E-compass, P-sensor, Barometer, Gesture sensor, and step counter sensor. Plus, the overall performance of this device is backed by a long-lasting battery of 2300mAh.
Weighing 110 grams and measuring 139×69×7.3 mm, Phicomm’s first smartphone looks like a tough competition for other smartphones rolling in the market. During the event, CEO of Phicomm, Zheng Min said that their company is setting up in India with dedicated call centers. He also added that exclusive care centers will also be set in major cities of the country.
Phicomm is conducting several discussions to select an appropriate partner, and soon, it will follow up with offline sales across different parts of the country. With more to come, the Chinese handset maker is set to create local ecosystem in India.
