Oneplus One Gets Price Discount In India; Specifications of Successor Confirmed
Today, the popular OnePlus One smartphone is rolling at a special discount of Rs. 2000 on Amazon. Currently, the smartphone is available for a price of Rs 19,998, and in addition to this, a bamboo Styleswap cover for this phone has also been launched by OnePlus. The cover costs Rs 1,499 on Amazon, and gives a great look and feel to this device. The service introduced by OnePlus will be applicable on all smartphones that have been launched or will be launched by the company.
To recall, OnePlus One packed a great set of specifications with a 5.5-inch full HD display protected by Corning gorilla Glass 3. The device has been powered by the high-end Snapdragon 801 processor, clocked at a frequency of 2.5 GHz and clubbed with 3GB of RAM. The 13MP rear and 5MP front-facing camera equipped with this device can perfectly take brilliant images. It can also record qualities videos at 4k with slow-motion effect.
The on-board storage on this device 64GB, but it cannot be expanded via microSD card. It runs Cyanogen 11S OS based Android KitKat, and is also upgradable to the latest version from Cyanogen based on Android Lollipop. The battery backing this phone features a capacity of 3100mAh.
Along with price discount, OnePlus has also confirmed the specs of the upcoming OnePlus Two smartphone. In a recent blogpost, the popular smartphone company confirmed that its next flagship smartphone come with a specially engineered Snapdragon 810 chipset. In the post, company mentioned, “OnePlus 2 will come loaded with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.1 processor, engineered for OnePlus and our next generation flagship phone.” This chipset has been creating severe heating issues in different devices. Thus, OnePlus further addressed the issues and said, “Although there have been reports that the 810 runs warmer than its predecessors, we assure you that we have taken all the necessary precautions and beyond to prevent this from occurring in the 2. We worked very closely with Qualcomm’s engineers to integrate an improved version of the chipset (v2.1) in the OnePlus 2, and fine-tuned both hardware and software.”
The official launch of the 2015 flagship killer is still awaited, but it’s pricing and specs could make up a great deal for Indian smartphone users.
