Sony confirms to Address Overheating issues in Xperia Z3+ and Xperia Z4

According to reports, another smartphone powered by Snapdragon 810 chipset has been encountering overheating issues. The renowned smartphone vendor Sony confirmed that Japan only Xperia Z4 has been facing severe heating issues. The company acknowledged the issue, and has promised to address it this summer.

Sony Xperia Z3+

Sony Netherlands accepted these problems, and promised to bring a software update for Z4 real soon. And as of now, the company has also suggest a temporary solution to turn off the smartphone multiple times in a day. Along with this, Xperia Z3+ smartphone has also reported the same issue. Complains have been flooding in that Xperia Z3+ becomes extremely hot while playing high-end games or using camera for long-hours.

Before Sony, the initial sample of LG G Flex 2 also created the same issue. LG worked with Qualcomm and received an updated chipset to solve the trouble. But, the problem didn’t came to an end. In the month of January, reports claimed that Samsung has ditched Snapdragon 810 chipset for its upcoming flagship smartphone. It was a smart move for Galaxy S6, but HTC powered One M9 with the same chipset, and had bring subsequent software updates to address it.

Xperia Z3+

The problem of Overheating in Snapdragon 810 processor have been reported since a long time. In December 2014, it was claimed that the processor heats up to high levels, and gives a bad impact on overall smartphone performance. Due to driver errors, Adreno 430 GPU of the company was also creating great amount of trouble. There were many more issues, but as of now, all of them have been fixed.

Last month, Xperia Z3+ and Xperia Z3+ Dual was unveiled as the global variant of Japan only flagship Xperia Z4. The smartphone looks like an upgraded version of 2014 flagship Xperia Z3, and features same specs with slight design tweaks. The global launch of this phone was initially scheduled for June, but due to extreme overheating issues, Sony has been delaying it.

Few weeks ago, an Italian website also claimed that Xperia Z3+ will come at a price of EUR 699 (approximately Rs. 48,750). But, as of now, no official confirmation on this report has been given by Sony.
