After G Pad II 8.0, LG has added another member into its phablet line-up, G Pad II 10.1. Running Android 5.1 Lollipop, the new phablet will be showcased at IFA Berlin, and will hit the shelves in Asia, North America, and Europe. Its pricing and availability details are still unconfirmed, but will be mentioned at the time of launch by the company. The predecessor of this device G Pad II 8.0, launched few days back might also be unveiled at IFA, next month.
In terms of specs, the Lollipop based phablet flaunts a 10.1-inch WUXGA display with a pixel density of 224ppi. It has been powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chip with four cores clocked at 2.26GHz coupled with 2GB of RAM and Adreno GPU. It features 16GB of internal storage expandable via micro-SD card, and boasts a 5-megapixel rear and 2 megapixel front-facing shooter.
On the connectivity front, G Pad II 10.1 packs decent support with Bluetooth, A-GPS, and micro-USB options. The Wi-Fi and 4G models pack same innards except for added sim-card slot on 4G variant. They offer decent browsing experience, feature several sensors, and are backed by a powerful 7400mAh battery. Even in terms of dimensions, both models measure 254.3×161.1×7.8mm, and weigh just around 489 grams.
At the launch, the company added that LG G Pad II 10.1 will have a dedicated reader mode for creating a perfect ecosystem for eBook reading. It reduces the blue light of display backlight, and gives an improved reading experience. The dual-mode featured on this phablet runs two apps at the same time, and QuickMemo+ app also helps in creating, editing, and sharing memos from any screen.
Added to this, LG G Pad II 10.1 will also feature pre-loaded Microsoft apps, and 100GB of OneDrive online storage for a period up to 2 years. It’s slightly better than G Pad II 8.0, and looks an ideal device for phablet lovers.
At the launch, Chris Yie, the vice president and head of marketing communications for LG highlighted the improved display and battery capabilities of this device and commented, “The LG G Pad II 10.1 was developed in response to consumers’ feedback and optimized for multimedia consumption. Customers asked for a large display, bigger battery and faster performance all without raising the price. The G Pad II delivers on all counts.”
