Chinese smartphone maker Meizu has launched its flagship handset in India, MX5. The new smartphone features an incredible set of specs, and will be available for purchase via Snapdeal at an enticing price of Rs. 19,999. It will be hitting the shelves from Wednesday 2PM, and will also come in 32GB and 64GB avatars after some time. At the launch, Meizu mentioned that since its entry into Indian smartphone market, more than 40 service centers have been opened across 20 cities, and a specialized delivery repair service has also been initiated for improved experience.
Company’s flagship, MX5 flaunts a beautiful look with its full-metal uni-body design, and features an easily accessible fingerprint scanner right on its home-button. Its metal body gives a great grip, and has been specifically crafted from 5-step anodizing process. The rear panel of this phone reminds of iPhone 6, and looks extremely beautiful with a dual-Tone LED flash.
In terms of specs, Meizu MX5 features a 5.5-inch full-HD Super AMOLED, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It features 401 pixels per inch, and is powered by MediaTek’s latest Helio X10 chip built-on 64-bit architecture. It clocks at a frequency of 2.2GHz, and has been coupled with 3GB RAM and PowerVR G6200 GPU for butter smooth performance.
Meizu MX5 runs Android 5.0 Lollipop-based Flyme 4.5 OS, and features 16GB of internal memory, without expandability. It packs enough room for work and play, and boasts a 20.7-megapixel rear autofocus camera with Sony IMX220 sensor, laser autofocus, and dual-LED flash, and a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter with f/2.0 aperture.
Even in terms of connectivity, the dual-sim based MX5 stays right on the mark. It features 4G support on both Nano-sim card slots, and offers decent support with Wi-Fi, GPRS/EDGE, Bluetooth, A-GPS, 3G HSPA+, and micro-USB options. The handset compatible with LTE bands currently deployed in India, and has been equipped with a bunch of sensors (gravity sensor, proximity sensor, IR, gyroscope, digital compass, and ambient light sensor) for best user-experience.
The performance of Meizu MX5 is backed a 3150mAh battery, and is further complimented by mCharge technology. With mCharge, the handset charges up to 50% within 30 minutes, and holds more juice for non-stop work and play. MX5 will be coming in Gray, Silver, Gold, and Black & Silver colors, and looks a good deal under 20k.
