Budget smartphone manufacturer, Panasonic launched a new member with an incredible set of specs, Eluga Switch. The new phone comes at a tempting price tag of Rs. 19,990, runs Android 5.0 Lollipop, and will hit the shelves in Gun Metal Grey color via Amazon India.
In terms of specs, the new Eluga Switch flaunts a razor sharp 5.5-inch full-HD display, protected by Asahi Dragon Trail Glass. It features 401 pixels per inch, and comes with Olephobic coating for handling scratches and smudges. The Lollipop-based device features an incredible visual experience, and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 chip with eight cores clocked at a speed of 1.5GHz, coupled with 2GB of RAM and Adreno 405 GPU. Inbuilt storage packed with this device is limited to 32gigs, and is not expandable via micro-SD card.
The camera capabilities packed with Eluga Switch includes a 13-megapixel rear autofocus camera with LED flash, and a superb 8-megapixel front-facing camera. It delivers decent images under lowlight as well as daylight conditions.
As far as connectivity is concerned, Panasonic Eluga Switch right on the mark with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G HSPA+, GPRS/EDGE, NFC, USB-OTG, Android Beam, and 4G LTE. It offers support for LTE bands currently deployed in India, packs decent browsing experience, and comes with a bunch sensors such as, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, proximity sensor, e-compass, and accelerometer. In terms of battery capabilities, it looks good enough to hold sufficient juice with its 2910mAh Li-ion battery.
Along with this, Panasonic Eluga Switch also features JBL-powered 1.2W Dual Front Speakers with 3D Audio and Hi-Fi sound capabilities. It gives a nice music experience, and comes bundled with JBL headphones as well. Moreover, it tips on the scale at 152.7×75.14×7.4mm and weighs just around 141 grams on paper.
At the launch, Pankaj Rana, the Business Head of Panasonic India Mobility Division highlighted the efficiency of Eluga Switch and said, “The Eluga Switch does exactly what it was imagined to do, offer two vertical screen orientations in one handheld device,” He further added, “A user can effortlessly ‘switch’ between an upright and inverted smartphone. The Switch is the epitome of consumer preferences, designed by keeping into consideration extensive customer feedback and expert technology.”
