iPhone 6s And iPhone 6s Plus Launched With 3D Touch Display, 2GB RAM, 12MP Isight Camera
As expected, Apple has finally showcased the latest generation of iPhones alongside the all new AppleTV and iPad Pro. The new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus pack several tweaks, and will be up for pre-orders from Saturday. Although Apple has given a launch date of September 25 for twelve countries, there no information about the launch or availability of this duo in Indian market. As for pricing, they’ll take the place of their iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, while the old-ones will get price-cut by small margins.
Along with traditional color options, the new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus has been announced in a new Rose Gold finish, made from 7000 series Aluminum for more strength and durability. The phones look identical to their predecessors, but are totally different from inside. The display of iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus has been equipped with 3D Touch, which triggers a certain set of functions according to the amount of pressure exerted by a user. It also helps in taking emergency selfies in just a matter of seconds. The display resolution, however still remains unchanged!
The biggest highlight of iPhone 6s and 6s Plus is their improved 12-megapixel iSight and 5-megapixel FaceTime camera. With enhanced pixel count on both sensors, they deliver crispier images and offer support for 4k video capturing as well. Apple has also introduced a new technology in which the display lights up, and works as a flash while taking selfies with the front-camera.
The new “Live Photos” feature also improves camera capabilities of iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. It records audio which perfectly matches with photos, including frame just before and after clicking the picture. As for hardware, the “S” variants are powered by the improved A9 chip which offers 70% more processing power than the chipset equipped with previous generation. They also feature enhanced power with 2GB RAM, and upgraded TouchID which is said to be two times faster than the previous generation.
With almost same options on the connectivity front, iPhone 6s and 6s Plus offer advanced LTE capabilities with support for 23 LTE bands as well as Wi-Fi. They’ll come bundled with new docks and covers, and will run iOS 9 out-of-the box. Apple also announced that iOS 9 will hit existing Apple devices from September 16.
