Lava Pixel V2 with Android 5.1 Lollipop Launched In India

This Monday, Lava unveiled an updated avatar of its famous budget phone, Pixel V1. Dubbed as Pixel V2, the refreshed handset comes at a lower price and features improved camera capabilities. It’s already rolling at Rs. 10,750 via offline channels, but the company has promised online availability starting from September 15.

In terms specifications, Lava Pixel V2 features a number of tweaks over its predecessor. The new device runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with the Star OS 2.0 skin atop, and boasts a 5-inch HD IPS display protected by Asahi Dragontail Glass. It packs an incredible visual experience, and comes equipped with MediaTek’s 64-bit MTK6735 chip with four Cortex A-53 cores clocked at 1.3GHz coupled with 2GB RAM and Mali T720 GPU. It packs 16GB of internal memory, and offers support for expansion up to 32GB via micro-SD card.

As far as camera capabilities are concerned, Pixel V2 brings a major camera upgrade with its 13-megapixel rear autofocus shooter with 1.4-micron pixel size, 5 element Largan Lens, f/2.0 aperture, Blue-Glass filter, and dual-LED flash. It produces decent snaps under lowlight conditions, and packs an 8-megapixel front-facing shooter for taking ideal selfies. The secondary camera of this device has also been equipped with 1.4 micron-pixel size, 4 element Largan Lens, f/2.4 aperture, and single-LED flash. The camera of this handset comes with features like wide-angle selfie, Pic Focus, Face beauty, intelligent mode, panorama, and gif maker, and can easily capture 1080p videos without any glitches.

On the connectivity front, the dual-SIM based Lava Pixel V2 offers a bunch of options such as, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, A-GPS, 3G HSPA+, 4G LTE, and micro-USB 2.0. It packs Cat.4 LTE connectivity on both micro-SIM card slots, and offers support LTE bands currently deployed in India. Calling and web-browsing on this handset is perfectly complimented several sensors as well!

Lava Pixel V2 features a decent design language, and weighs around 128 grams. It houses a 2500mAh Li-Po battery, and will be coming Royal Black and Icy Black color options. Another variant of the device in Prism blue Color will go on sale next month. With same price bracket, Lava Pixel V2 will be going straight against the likes of K3 Note, Mi4i, and the latest Motorola Moto G.
