Samsung’s next flagship, the Galaxy S7 has already appeared in several leaks and renders. The device is expected to show up at the “Galaxy Unpacked 2016” event on Sunday in Barcelona, and is likely to showcase a plethora of features alongside iP67 certification for water and dust proofing. Notably, this time, the alleged flagship from the South-Korean giant has surfaced in new images and a short 14-second video. The new leak reveals a lot about Samsung’s next big thing including its form-factor and key specs!
The two leaked images of Samsung Galaxy S7 reveal the front and back panel of the device. The first image, highlighting the front panel, confirms support for microSD card with an extra slot alongside basic microSIM card slot. The second image, on the other side, collaborates with earlier leaks, and boasts a glass back-panel which looks a lot similar to what Galaxy S6 had on offer.
In addition to this, the leaked 14-second video reveals a lot about Samsung’s improved TouchWiz UI. The short video does not highlight much about design or form-factor, but it does give you a peek at the new Flipboard integrated TouchWiz interface. The idea looks interesting, but it is important to note that this is just a leak, and things could take a U turn anytime.
As far as specifications are concerned, sources claim that Samsung Galaxy S7 will feature a 5.5-inch Quad-HD display, and power up either by a quad-core Snapdragon 820 or an octa-core Exynos 8890 chipset. The handset will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the box, and will pair with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 32/64 gigs of built-in storage.
Recently, the handset also appeared on a Samsung Pay promotional poster from Spanish Bank La Caixa. The advertisement confirmed above-mentioned specs, along with the inclusion of a 12-megapixel rear autofocus camera with a 1/2.5-inch sensor and an 8-megapixel front-facing snapper. Along with innards, the handset will also include an upgraded 3,000 mAh battery, offering more than enough juice for seamless work and play.
As for pricing, recent reports suggested an initial price tag of EUR 699.99 (roughly Rs. 53,500) for Samsung Galaxy S7 32GB, and EUR 799.99 (roughly Rs. 61,000) for Galaxy S7 Edge 32GB. They’ll be hitting the shelves around March 11, 2016!
