At a media even in China, renowned phone maker Oppo has announced its latest flagships with a tempting set of specs. The new beauties dubbed Oppo R9 and R9 Plus, sport highly premium looks and promise an exemplary photography experience with their prolific rear and front-facing snappers. Though there is no word on global release, R9 will hit the shelves starting from March 24 at 2799 Yuan (INR 28754 approximately), and R9 Plus from April 12th ship at 3299 Yuan (INR 33860 approximately). They both will come in Gold and Rose Gold colour options.
As far as features and specs are concerned, both Oppo R9 and R9 Plus make a strong impression in every way. The younger sibling, R9 boasts a slew of features such as, a 5.5-inch FHD AMOLED display with a 1.66mm ultra-narrow frame, a MediaTek Helio P10 octa-core processor, and a whopping 4GB of RAM. The phone also incorporates 64 gigs of inbuilt storage with an added option for expandability via microSD card.
It’s elder sibling, R9 Plus, on the other hand, sports a bigger 6-inch full-HD AMOLED display powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 652 SoC paired with 4GB RAM and 64/128 GB inbuilt memory. Except for screen-size and innards, the two phones look identical in many ways. They both flaunt 6063 aluminium alloy body and create an ideal ecosystem for photography with prolific rear and front-facing shooters.
The camera of Oppo R9 bears a 13MP rear autofocus shooter with f/2.2 aperture, 5P lens, and a 16-megapixel front-facing snapper with f/2.0 aperture and 78.1-degree wide-angle lens. It delivers top-quality images in all environments, but is slightly behind R9 Plus which bears a 16-megapixel rear and front-facing shooter with wide angled lens, f/2.0 aperture, 5P Lens, and PDAF.
In addition to this, on the connectivity front, both phones feature dual-SIM connectivity with a hybrid nano sim card slot, and basic options such as, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4G LTE with VoLTE, 3G HSPA+, and microUSB 2.0. Oppo has featured all essential elements with their latest flagships including a smart fingerprint scanner that brings benefits of biometric security and unlocks the phone just within 2 seconds. They both offer sufficient juice for seamless work and play, especially R9 Plus with its humongous 4,120 mAh battery.
