Egyptian security forces were out in force Monday in the streets of Egyptian town, including Cairo, as Coptic Christians laid to rest the 45 victims of ISIS suicide bombings at two churches on Palm Sunday. The Copts are up in arms over the security lapse that failed to prevent the attacks on their churches in the Delta town of Tanta and Alexandria.Sunday night, President Abdul-Fatteh El-Sisi announced a three-month state of emergency against the terror threat.  Egyptian security forces have been put on alert in anticipation of further attacks  Military special forces are assisting the police in securing state facilities.

Our unique angle on these subjects – and strong intelligence dimension – has earned DEBKAfile a global reputation and a steady readership – which skyrockets in times of crisis.
