This day last year, they protested against the restart of Ohi nuclear plant.
Fukushima Diary followed them all day and all night.
After all, it was “successfully” restarted and we all felt desperate.
It’s been only one year, but there are few people to remember that. I hear almost no one talking about that and discuss what was not enough, what we could have done.
The “breaking news” of newspaper and TV changes on the daily basis or even hourly. They tell us what to think about. It looks “intelligent” to talk about what newspaper and TV talks about.
The problem is nobody talks about what newspaper and TV don’t talk about.
Those issues are treated as if they didn’t exist.
This is what media exist for.
They look like they are our eyes. However actually, they cover out own eyes. We must know we can see things, hear things, and think by ourselves just like I’m doing though I’m not a nuclear physicist, chemist, or even a “journalist”.
They choose what to report. In other word, they choose what not to report. Unreported things are nearly forgotten.
Everyone has only 24 hours a day. While we are watching TV or reading “news”paper, we can almost never think about any other things.
They don’t make us updated. They only make us ignorant.
Now I wonder how many people remember the tears of the protestors. This is how they built nuclear facility all around the world.
Fukushima Diary has not changed the stance from the beginning. Now I’m almost a weirdo.
This is why not so many people try to follow and spread the truth. They don’t want to look un-cool.
but when they restarted Ohi nuclear plant, I promised myself not to go back to there never.
It’s hard but worth of doing.
TV and newspaper are not our friends even though they look powerful and smiley. The enemy is always in “our side”.
