Former Chongqing police chief Wang Lijun was secretly put on trial Monday morning, according to the Hong Kong-based TV station Cable TV. Wang made headlines back in February when he fled to a US Consulate in the city of Chengdu. That move led to the downfall of former Chongqing Party Secretary Bo Xilai and his wife, Gu Kailai. Political commentator Lin Zixu says there are various rumors on Wang Lijun's trial time, which may have been distractions created by the CCP. [Lin Zixu, Political Commentator]: “I guess the CCP will not have a public hearing; even the CCP does not want to release the time and place of the trial, or Wang Lijun's picture and all other related information. It shows one thing—that there is a secret behind Wang Lijun's case which is big enough to kill the CCP.” Some analysts see Wang's case as a prelude for what may happen to Bo Xilai. Wang's flight to the consulate implicated Bo in a number of scandals. One includes an alleged cover-up of the murder of British expatriate Neil Heywood at the hands of Bo's wife, Gu Kailai. Another is a high-level conspiracy between Bo and Zhou Yongkang to overthrow Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping, who is slated to become president after the New Year. Sources inside China have reported that Wang Lijun, Gu Kailai and Bo Xiali were involved in the harvesting of organs from live Falun Gong practitioners, and that Neil Heywood may have known about it.
