Christians in Nigeria right now are some of the most persecuted Christians in the entire world. Once a solidly Muslim nation, Nigeria is rapidly turning away from Islam and to Christ, which has brought the wrath of many Muslims upon them. Hundreds of Christians have been killed in just the past few months and that number is expected to skyrocket.
In a statement by Archbishop Jospeh Bagobiri, he has said that all Christians must stand together against the Muslims or else the Christians will die in a massive genocide:

Estas declarações e incitamentos para guerras religiosas são a razão para o aumento constante das agressões entre grupos humanos, decorrentes da diversidade religiosa. Estimulam a eliminação física das pessoas que seguem um credo religioso diferente. Por que tais lideres não promovem um encontro entre eles, acordam suas diferenças e buscam refrear a violencia, esclarecendo que a prática religiosa diversa não os torna inimigos, apenas diferentes.
Podem coexistir pacificamente, manter relacionamento e viver a religião como fator de elevação dos espíritos.
Ao contrário, mensagem como essas acirrarão ainda mais os ânimos, gerando tragédias de grandes proporções, prestando um grande serviço para determinados grupos que promovem a destruição de nações apenas para se aproveitarem de suas riquezas naturais.
