Stephen D. Koss, MD, orthopedic surgeon at The Orthopedic Institute of New Jersey, and affiliated with Specialty Surgical Center and Newton Medical Center, has been named a 2016 Top Doctor in Hackettstown and Sparta, New Jersey. Dr. Stephen D. Koss has been in practice for over 26 years, and in that time he has become one of the foremost orthopedic surgeons in New Jersey. His career in medicine began in 1989 when he graduated from the University of Virginia School of Medicine. This was followed by an internship and residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester. Before entering private practice, Dr. Koss also completed a fellowship in sports medicine at Tufts University, New England Medical Center in Boston.
Board certified in Orthopedic Surgery, Dr. Koss is also a renowned expert in sports medicine and the treatment of sports injuries. As such he diagnoses and treats a wide range of conditions, but his specialist areas include joint replacement, arthroscopic surgery, rotator cuff repair, ligament reconstruction, and the treatment of knee and shoulder injuries as well as treating patients who suffer from arthritis.
As an expert in his field, Dr. Koss has had numerous papers published in medical journals, and he has also made presentations on orthopedics and sports medicine in New Jersey and beyond. When not working, he likes to spend time with his wife and two sons, and keeps fit by playing tennis. As a recognized authority in sports medicine, Dr. Stephen D. Koss is a deserving winner of a 2016 Top Doctor Award.
