(Before It's News)

Technology, in the last two decades has undergone drastic changes. From long queues to attend an STD call, mobile technology has truly changed the face of the world and communication, even how we interact with each other. Any basic service that people could ask for, has an app of its own; banking, customer care, maps, food, personal care, health care and now Life Insurance joins the band wagon. After LIC’s android phone app, Aviva Life Insurance comes out with its mobile app for Android, Blackberry/RIM and iOS based smart device.

The user friendly application enables customers to check their policy and fund details, request for premium receipt, pay premiums and access Aviva India’s product suite on the go.  It has various more features like latest stock market news, latest cricket scores and even the facility to call a customer care expert. This facility has been missing from the LIC app which sports a premium calculator that would let the customer know the amount that he would be required to pay once he decides to choose a plan.

Private insurers were permitted to participate in the Indian life market only from 2000. Aviva began operations in July 2002 as a joint venture with Dabur Group, one of India’s oldest business houses. Since then Aviva has been active on the Indian Life Insurance sector, which is the fastest growing sector in India. Aviva was among the first companies to introduce modern unit-linked and unitized with-profit policies. Launching a mobile app will help it compete with the more established companies like LIC and ICICI that have a greater market share.

With Aviva Mobile, customers can locate branches, register grievances, update policy details and reach us from anywhere at the click of a button”, said Snehil Gambhir, CEO of Aviva.

The multi-platform mobile app makes Aviva the first life insurance company to introduce such an app in the market. This will help the company to serve the customers better and provide prompt service. This makes Aviva a forerunner in adopting technology in an otherwise non-tech business avenue.
