Founder Of Superangels Launches Start-Up Accelerator Program GSF Accelerator
Founder of Seed funding & mentoring group Superangels & erstwhile President of Reliance Entertainment, Rajesh Sawhney, has launched a first of its kind start-up accelerator program. Christened GSF Accelerator, the endeavor will nurture fledgling startups. Additionally, this multi-city endeavor has already received hefty backing from 30 of the top Angel funding members & 5 Venture funds.
A while ago, a diverse group of entrepreneurs had floated a venture capital firm called India Quotient (IQ). Running on very similar structure the GSF Accelerator will be actively involved in the conceptualization & incubation stages of startups that show a lot of promise in the idea generation & strategization phases. However, the focus of the investment will be limited to companies that offer digital, mobile, cloud and technology products. But Sawhney is quick to point out that others will not be completely neglected, “In case we plan to mentor a company from some other sector, then this will be because of its exceptional founders.”
Startups in India have been on an active footing. Owing to global economic downturn, companies all over the world are looking towards India to source talent that is both efficient & economic as well. However, given the rapid access to newer technologies Indians companies, on their own too, are thinking outside the box. GSF Accelerator will pick up about 4 start-ups each from Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru. These 12 promising companies will receive a 7 week intensive mentoring sessions from over 200 leading & original co-founders & digital masterminds from across the globe. In all there will be 25 intensive and proprietary workshops.
Besides mentoring, the program will also lend a financial helping hand & even try to offer access to funding and business networks. With such a vast amount of experience & financial power backing these startups, it won’t be a surprise if they end up competing with the giants.
