Online Fashion Store Zovi Launches Windows 8 App
Zovi, the Indian fashion e-commerce website has announced the release of its Windows 8 app. The app is currently live on the Windows 8 store and is free to download. The app has been specifically built for Windows 8 and sports a design aesthetic that is common to both the Zovi branding and the Windows 8 app design guidelines. The app was showcased during the India launch of Microsoft Windows 8.

Speaking on the launch of the app, Zovi CEO, Manish Chopra said,
“Zovi.com is excited to partner with Microsoft for the launch of the Zovi app on Windows 8.The Zovi app has been designed to leverage the aesthetic elegance and convenience of the Windows 8 User Interface to offer a unique experience in shopping for fashion and lifestyle online on Zovi.com”
It remains to be seen if Windows 8 is enthusiastically received in the country since many people still use Windows XP, but that number has been dwindling steadily in favor of Windows 7. Making the switch to the new Windows will take some time for India on a whole. However, e-commerce and other online companies cannot afford to be bystanders to the whole Windows 8 app thing. It pays to be an early adopter since you get a lot of traction when you have an app out on the platform first. Zovi has recently started appearing in traditional media with their first TV ads. This mainline push in addition to a strong presence on every popular platform will help Zovi gain the reach as well the traction.
