Caleb’s third birthday is coming up. I find it so hard to believe that he’s actually this old. The last time we were in a pet store, Caleb fell in love with the lizards. He thought they were the neatest things and we began thinking about getting him one for his birthday…
Friday Ryan found an Eastern fence lizard (native to our area) hibernating in a boat that he was working on. He put the half frozen thing into a bucket and I warmed him up with a heater. I honestly couldn’t believe the poor thing lived….
That night Ryan’s parents kept Caleb so we could have a much needed, long awaited date night. Our idea of a date: lizard cage shopping followed by dinner at Longhorn Steakhouse.
We got on the interstate and had our first tire blow out. I couldn’t believe my thirty year old husband had never had to change a tire before! Luckily, he knew exactly how to do it and we set out for the pet store. We started looking at the habitats for these reptiles and I was amazed at all of the options. Who knew these tiny, little things could possibly need that much stuff??? The need a cage, warmers, things to sit on, things to drink water out of, misters, and thermometers…. Wow, right?!?
Later we had a wonderful dinner at Longhorn and enjoyed spending the time together.
