(Before It's News)

[topic]CHICAGO—Shen Yun Performing Arts attracts people from all walks of life to witness its splendor. Many choose to take friends or loved-ones along to enjoy the show.

Susan Kleinman, an insurance planner and programmer and owner of her own business, Banks and Kleinman Enterprises, and Cynthia Lavin, a ballroom dancer, decided to take in Shen Yun together on a windy Friday night at the Civic Opera House, April 20.

“I think it’s extremely creative. I loved the costumes, the color and the nature of the culture of the dance because it’s something very unique to me,” said Ms. Kleinman. “But one thing I really loved is the use of the video and the characters coming to life out of that video. I think it’s so, so cool.”

Ms. Kleinman was referring to Shen Yun’s state-of-the-art digitally mastered backdrops that play an important role in developing the scenery and mood of each piece.

Susan Kleinman, a business woman has previously visited China. Cynthia Lavin, on the other hand, is a ballroom dancer with dancing expertise and works for a company called Overture doing sales and marketing.

”I think it’s more insightful into the story and the history and the spirituality, which I really love,” Ms. Lavin said. “And also I’m a dancer, but I do ballroom dancing and it inspires me; the spiritual part and then the technique, so you know it’s very high level [which] I appreciate … everybody had a high level of discipline.”

Ms. Lavin commented on the opening number, An Era Begins, in which, heralded by a battalion of celestial soldiers, they drum in preparation for a battle between good and evil. She said she loved the drums and the colors.

”I appreciate the technique and the talent, they’re very synchronized and I could see the discipline and, well I loved that … I just loved [that] combined with the spirituality,” she said.
