Witness Statement: It was a clear night, we were about to go to bed. I was going to pull down the kitchen blind when I looked out of my kitchen window toward the west, and saw a bright light high up in the sky, brighter than the stars around it. It was pure bright white like the light from burning magnesium.
At first I thought it was a star, then I noticed that it was moving quite quickly across the sky in a south easterly direction. I called my wife who also saw it, and I phoned a friend who lives about 2 miles away, and he and his partner saw it too.
About 5 minutes after this, what sounded like a propeller driven aircraft flew over quite slowly towards the south, and appeared to be followed seconds after by another white light, this time not as bright as the first, but maybe it was higher in the sky.
