Eric R. Hornbaker posted this picture below and asked: “What is a cheap way to keep bugs off my carrots for next year? Plus what kind of bug is it?”

Comment #1: Try using dr. bronners peppermint or lavender soap as an organic pesticide. I tried it this year on my crops and it worked like a charm.
Comment #2: Plant some wormwood shrubs nearby u should be able to buy the seeds off ebay it is a natural pest killer/deterrent.
Comment #3: I don’t see a bug. Root crops absorb pesticides easier, so whatever you use will get into the carrot.
Comment #4: St. Gabriels (if I remember right) makes organic bug spray. (Used to be called sharp shooter, now it’s bug shooter.) The primary ingredient is clove oil. It was my go-to when I had my garden a few years ago.
