French animal rights activists recently confiscated a homeless man’s dog, and it was captured on video.
In the video, a man and a woman wrestle the homeless man to the ground as his puppy hides.
Cause Animale Nord, the activist group responsible for the seizure, uploaded a video to their Facebook page. They said that they had renamed the dog “Vegan.” They also said they took the dog because the owner was a gypsy who used the dog for begging.
The video begins with a shot of the homeless man on his back, with the male activist trying to pin the man to the floor.
The dog squeaks in distress as his owner is assaulted.
The homeless man then begins to wail in anguish.
The activists pass the small dog off to a third activist, who runs away with the puppy.
In a picture caption of the dog, the activists write that “We have withdrawn [the dog] from a Roma who used it for begging. The police do nothing, we act. You also you can act, it’s just a little bit of courage.”
The video of the homeless man being assaulted by the group and having his dog seized was uploaded to Facebook by eyewitness Nghi Le Duc. It has been viewed more than 1.7 million times.
