Look How A Gay Rights Group Just Tried To Use The Bible Against Kim Davis With This Billboard
In response to the nationwide attention Rowan County, Ky., elected official Kim Davis attracted with her refusal to issue same-sex marriage licenses, one gay rights group attempted to counter her faith-based argument with a biblical reference of its own.
Planting Peace reportedly funded a month-long billboard display in the Rowan County town of Morehead.

The organization released a statement defending the advertisement while attacking the position of “zealots” like Davis.
“Our message to our LGBTQ youth is simple: You are loved, valued, supported, and beautiful,” the group stated. “There is nothing wrong with you, and we will stand by you. You are not alone.”
According to Planting Peace, those who do disagree with gay marriage on biblical grounds are hypocrites.
“The anti-LGBTQ movement is comprised of a substantial number of zealots who unfailingly refer to their rigid interpretation of religious text to narrowly define ‘traditional’ institutions and values,” the organization alleged. “They pick and choose what they wish to convey as immoral and unacceptable, while seemingly sweeping lines of scripture just a few letters away completely under the rug.”
Many social media users, however, likewise chastised Planting Peace for its own selective use of scripture.

Media outlets including TheBlaze pointed out that the billboard reference – apparently taken from a passage in Exodus – has been the subject of significant scholarly debate.
