A Hungarian camerawoman for an Internet channel was fired after she kicked and tripped migrant refugees attempting to enter the country from Serbia.
The camerawoman, identified as Petra Laszio, no longer works for N1TV, according to the Internet channel’s officials.
“The N1TV colleagues today behaved unacceptably in Roszke collection point. The cameraman working relationship, extraordinary notice was released today. The case was considered closed our part,” N1TV Editor-in-Chief Szabolcs Kisberk said in a statement appearing on the station’s Facebook page.
There is no dispute of Laszio’s actions because other camera workers at the site videotaped it. Those videos, posted online, show Laszio kicking one migrant and tripping a man carrying a small child.
There were tense moments as migrants attempted to cross the border, busting through police lines and fleeing police in some cases. At least one of the incidents involving Laszio happened when a group tried to break through police lines.
Migrants fleeing from Syria, other parts of the Middle East, and Africa are posing a crisis for Europe, especially in border countries like Hungary. Tents and tables have been set up at relocation camps in several border cities in an attempt to handle the influx of refugees.
Police in Hungary stopped trains full of migrants and forcibly removed many, even though the migrants were riding with no water and suffering from the heat.
Do you think Petra Laszio deserved to get fired? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
