Netanyahu Sees Iran Supreme Leader’s Threat And Issues A Response Obama NEVER Would

(Before It's News)

While on a state visit to Great Britain on Wednesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded to a threat issued by Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The Ayatollah tweeted earlier in the day that Israel need not worry about how it fares in the nuclear agreement because it will not be around much longer.

The prime minister responded:

Netanyahu elaborated on his Facebook page:

Khamenei is not giving supporters of the agreement any room for illusion. He has made it clear that the US is the Great Satan and that Iran intends to destroy the State of Israel.

This will not happen. Israel is a strong country and it will become even stronger. However, the conclusion that arises from the remarks of the tyrant in Tehran is that all responsible countries must cooperate in order to stop Iran’s terrorism and aggression which, to my regret, will only increase as a result of the agreement.

Khamenei did not limit his provocative tweets to threatening Israel, but once again re-iterated how he views the United States.

One of the several criticisms opponents of the deal have is the weakness of the inspection regime, including a 24 day notice period for inspecting key military sites and limited access to the Parchin complex. Iran is suspected of developing nuclear weapons technology at the site.

The back and forth between the leaders of Iran and Israel comes as the United States Congress prepares to vote on the future of the Iran nuclear agreement.

Under the provisions of the Corker-Cardin congressional review act, the body has until Sept. 17 to pass a resolution for or against the deal. President Obama “then has 12 days to veto and Congress has another 10 days to try to override his veto. The first congressional votes on the deal are expected this week,” according to Reuters.

Senate Democrats currently have enough in their ranks signifying support for the agreement, that they can filibuster any attempt to bring the measure to a vote. If successful, that move would spare the president from having to veto the resolution, which he has promised to do. The deadline for the final congressional vote is Sept. 17.

A Pew Research poll published earlier this week shows only 21 percent of the American public approves of the deal, while 49 percent disapprove, and 30 percent don’t know.
