As GOP frontrunner Donald Trump pings back and forth between nice Trump and mean Trump, The Donald has veered back to mean Trump on this Friday the 13th with a new 15-second ad slamming fellow candidate Dr. Ben Carson as a “pathological liar.”
Donald Trump posted the attack ad to his personal Facebook page on Friday with the message, “Happy Friday the 13th.”
With the strains of the theme from horror movie The Exorcist playing underneath, the ad begins with a clip of Dr. Carson recounting the story of when he tried to stab a friend of his when he was a youth.
The ad segues to a former Carson neighbor who expresses his shock at Carson’s claim of youthful violence after being asked by a journalist, “does it fit with the guy you knew?” To that, the former neighbor says, “no.”
Then the words “Violent Criminal?” appear on the screen, followed by, “Or pathological liar?”
The final message in the ad reads, “We don’t need either as president.”
Until recently, Trump has treated Carson as a welcome addition to the race for president; but that was before Carson’s poll numbers began to threaten The Donald’s frontrunner status.
In fact, less than a month ago, Trump was saying that Dr. Carson would be a great addition to a Trump cabinet if the real estate mogul were to become president.
But that was then. Today, Trump is slamming Carson and essentially calling his knife attack story an outright lie. Trump even called the voters in Iowa “stupid” for believing it.
