This Tuesday, renowned smartphone maker Huawei unveiled a new member of its Honor family, Honor 4A. The 3G variant of the entry level smartphone has been launched in Chinese market at a price tag of CNY 599 (approximately Rs. 6,100), while the 4G LTE variant is set to hit the market at a price of CNY 699 (approximately Rs. 7,200). This phone packs a nice set of specs, but as of now, its global availability hasn’t been revealed by the company.
In terms of specs, the dual sim Huawei Honor 4A features a 5-inch HD display, and has been powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 210 chipset clocked at a frequency of 1.1GHz, coupled with 2GB RAM and Adreno 304 GPU. It also runs the latest Android 5.1 out-of-the box with company’s own Emotion UI 3.1 skin on the top.
The camera equipped with Huawei Honor 4A is a perfect tool for photography enthusiasts. The rear camera is an 8-megapixel shooter, while front-facing snapper features a 2-megapixel sensor for producing quality selfies under different conditions. The built-in memory packed with this device is 8 gigs, but is not expandable via external microSD card.
Users will also get standard connectivity support with a rich set of options like, Wi-Fi, GPRS/EDGE, GPS/A-GPS, Bluetooth, and microUSB. The device comes with a handful of sensors, and looks good enough to hold sufficient amount of charge with its long-lasting battery of 2200mAh.
The launch of Honor 4A was reported first by MyDrivers. This device comes with tempting specifications, and looks like a perfect competitor for Huawei’s another entry-level smartphone, Honor 4C. Huawei Honor 4C was launched in the month of May, and packs a 5-inch High definition display, powered by a 64-bit HiSilicon Kirin 620 chipset clocked at 1.2GHz, clubbed with 2GB RAM. It runs Android KitKat out-of-the box with Emotion UI 3.0 on-the top, and features a 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front-facing snapper for producing decent image quality. Both smartphones go perfectly head to head with each other. Honor 4A holds an upper hand with upgraded operating system, while 4C looks slightly better with improved battery and camera support. Last month, Huawei also launched its flagship Honor 7 smartphone in three different avatars based on storage and dual-sim capabilities.
