According to Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, 220 Bq/Kg of Cesium-134/137 was detected from carp in Teganuma lake in Chiba. It’s over double as the “safety” limit.

In Teganuma lake of Chiba, Cs-134/137 and Strontium-90 are reported to be accumulating.

(cf, Radiation level increased at half of the measurement points in two lakes of Chiba [URL 2])

The sampling date was 6/21/2013. They only measured the muscle part of the sample. They report it was not distributed for sale.

Cs-134 : 72.5 Bq/Kg

Cs-137 : 151 Bq/Kg
