Three people were killed, including the gunman, in a shooting Monday afternoon near the Texas A&M University in College Station. Texas A&M issued a Code Maroon warning to students at 12:30pm EDT to avoid “the area immediately southeast of the intersection of Wellborn Rd.” (twitter.com Brazos County Constable Brian Bachmann was shot while serving an eviction notice to the suspect, Thomas Caffall. Rigo Cisneros, a 40-year-old former army medic and neighbor, performed CPR on Bachmann, but told The Eagle that the Constable, who was shot multiple times, had “no vital signs,” with “one clear gunshot wound to the chest.” Caffall was shot multiple times by police officers and rushed to the hospital, but did not survive. Cisneros said that the gunman told him “to apologize to the officer that was shot.” Two civilians and an additional officer also sustained gunshot wounds; one, identified as Caffall's landlord, died due to his injuries.
