Simi Garewal Launches A Website; Gives Audiences A Glimpse Into Her Life
Simi Garewal is best remembered as the elegant lady in white who interviewed the high and mighty of Bollywood with élan, grace and poise that few interviewers possess. After a brief hiatus, Simi Garewal is back to interact with her fans. This time through a website that catalogues her life, work, love in detail.
Simigarewal.com gives viewers a peak into the life and times of this lovely lady. The site has multiple sections like ‘family’, ‘cinema’, ‘behind the camera’, ‘TV shows’, ‘love and romance’, ‘me’ that give the viewer insight into all aspects of Simi’s life. The photos seen in each section are from Simi’s personal collection and the words have been penned by Simi herself. Speaking on the website, Simi said, “I have spent the last four months continuously working on the site. My website is personal, each word has been penned by me and I’ve also put together the designs and music to make it as perfect as I can. My site is going to continue to grow as I will constantly update and add to it.”
The site does have an elegant look. The photo montage in the family section is particularly endearing and Simi has been rather candid in talking about her personal life and love which is a rather brave move. The site will include full episodes of Simi’s TV shows – Rendezvous with Simi Garewal and Simi Selects-India’s Most Desirable.
The good thing about an exercise like this is that Simi’s fans (or as she calls them, ‘Frenz For Life’) and followers will get a chance to interact with her on a personal level. Though setting up a website dedicated to oneself may seem too narcissistic it is quite the need in today’s star obsessed world where everyone wants to know what’s happening in the lives of their favourite celebrities.
I believe current stars can learn from Simi’s endeavour and set up a website/blog that will enable their fans to connect with them.
