NationalWeatherForce.com has issued a Tornado Watch for North/Northeast MS … Northwest/North AL … All of TN excluding Memphis and far east … All of KY excluding North and extreme east …
Issued: 4/3/15 at 11:30am CT
A strong upper level jet will push through the area this afternoon/evening and bring a line of severe thunderstorms across the area. Initial development across TN/KY may produce the best tornado chance, with the bullseye from around south of Nashville, TN to South-Central KY. Some grids on here are showing stronger tornado potential with this smaller area. Otherwise, gridpoint models here at NWF shows a spinup/weak tornado event for the rest of the area … but this could be a ‘small-scale’ tornado event in the watch area.
You’ll notice that there is a yellow shade in far Western KY … this is for severe storms moving out of Illinois into that area as they progress east into the watch to become more tornadic.
