According to reports, Android One smartphones are receiving Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update in India. After the launch of Google’s latest Android M, the budget oriented Micromax Canvas A1, Karbonn Sparkle V, and Spice Dream Uno Mi-498 smartphones are receiving the update with build number LMY47V. The update weighs around 11MB, and is rolling for all three phones via over the air update.
The improved version of Lollipop, 5.1.1 brings a rich set of improvements for Android One smartphones. The update focuses on fixing the memory leak issue which has been troubling Android 5.0 and 5.1 users since a long time. Initially, the update rolled for Nexus 4, Nexus 5, and Nexus 9 devices, and now,
Google has moved towards the budget orient Android One series. Factory images for this update have also been published by Google for the Nexus Player.
As of now, the update is rolling for Android One users in India, and there has been no information about global release of this update. Last year, famous Android One series created a buzz around the Indian market with decent specs packed for budget users. All three devices featured ideal specifications and catered a rich set of users across the country. After India, Android one series moved to many countries including Bangladesh, Nepal, Indonesia, Phillippines, and Sri Lanka. Few weeks ago, the OS rolled out in turkey featuring a new device with a whole new set of features, 4G connectivity and upgraded design.
Along with Android One, Lollipop 5.1 update has also been confirmed for the entire lineup of Samsung’s flagship Galaxy series and Sony’s premium Z series featuring, Xperia Z, ZL, ZR, Z1 and Z2 smartphones.
