(Before It's News)

After a tempting wait, South Korean tech giant Samsung has launched its slimmest smartphone in the Indian market, Galaxy A8. Following the massive success of previous Galaxy A series, the renowned smartphone maker launched A8 with a sleek and slim profile. It’s not the slimmest smartphone in the industry, but is definitely one of finest and best crafted smartphone in the mid-range segment. It will be hitting the shelves from Monday in Black, White, and Gold avatars.

Samsung Galaxy A8

The dual-sim Galaxy A8 flaunts a beautiful look from all angles. It features metal on the sides with thinner bezels, and appears identical to Galaxy S6 from the front. There is a fingerprint sensor on the home button, and the rear portion is perfectly inspired from last year’s Galaxy A7.

On the specifications front, Galaxy A8 sports a 5.7-inch full HD Super AMOLED display powered by an octa-core processor. Instead of going with a 64-bit Snapdragon 615 chipset used in the china model, Samsung has used its own Exynos 5430 chip, coupled with 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of built-in storage. The memory of this device is expandable by up to 128 gigs by using one of the two Nano-sim card slots as a microSD slot.

The Android 5.1.1 Lollipop based, Galaxy A8 packs a nice camera setup with several features to deliver beautiful images under lowlight and daylight conditions. The rear camera of this device is 16-megapixel shooter with optical image stabilization, 120 degree wide angle lens, f/1.9 aperture, and LED flash, while the front-facing camera is a brilliant 5-megapixel snapper. On the connectivity front, the dual-sim device offers standard support with a rich set of options like, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS/A-GPS, 3G, GPRS/EDGE, dual Band 4G LTE, and microUSB 2.0. The LTE capabilities packed with this phone offer support for Band 40 and Band 3, and are compatible with 4G networks deployed in India.

Samsung Galaxy A8

The entire combination of specs and power packed with Galaxy A8 is perfectly complimented by a long-lasting battery of 3050mAh, promising up to 304 hours of standby time. This measures 158×76.8×5.9mm in dimension, weighs around 150 grams, and will be coming at a hefty price tag of Rs. 32,500. The price of this device is pretty high, but it would probably move towards a price drop within a month or two.
