As expected, renowned Smartphone maker Sony has announced powerful Xperia M5 and selfie-focused Xperia C5 Ultra with an amazing set of specs and design language. The price of both smartphones hasn’t been revealed by Sony, but their specs are good enough to take on leading players in the mid-range segment.
The new Xperia C5 Ultra packs a 6-inch full HD 1080p display with 0.8mm bezels, and has been equipped with a MediaTek MT6752 chip clocked at a speed of 1.7 GHz, coupled with 2GB of RAM. It runs the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop straight out-of-the box, and features prolific camera support with a 13-megapixel rear and front-facing snapper packed with, LED flash, Exmor RS sensor, HDR and much more. The inbuilt memory packed with this phone is 16 gigs, and can be further expanded by up to 200GB via external microSD card. On the connectivity front, it packs Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, 3G HSPA+, and LTE connectivity. It also comes with Dual-sim variant, and is perfectly backed by a long-lasting battery of 2930mAh with Stamina mode.
Along with Xperia C5 Ultra, Sony has also launched the latest member of Xperia M series, Xperia M5. This phone comes with IP65 and IP68 certification for water and dust proofing, and sports a 5-inch full HD 1080p IPS display with Mobile Bravia Engine 2, powered by a 64-bit octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 MT6795T processor clocked at a frequency of 2.2GHz, clubbed with 3 gigs of RAM and PowerVR G6200 graphics. The rear camera of this device is a 21.5-megapixel shooter with IMX230 Exmor RS sensor, Hybrid autofocus, f/2.2 aperture, and LED flash, while front-facing camera is a 13-megapixel snapper with full HD video recording capabilities. Moreover, the built-in storage equipped with this device is 16 gigs, and is further expandable by up to 200 gigs via external microSD card.
On the connectivity front, the Lollipop-based Xperia M5 packs Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, 3G HSPA+, 4G LTE, NFC, GPS, and microUSB options. It weighs around 143 grams, measures 145 x 72 x 7.6 mm in dimension, and also comes in a dual-sim variant. The battery backing this device features a capacity of 2600mAh.
In India, the launch of these phones is yet awaited, but the prolific camera technology packed with high-end specs looks a whole lot better than other smartphones rolling in the market.
