Apple iPhone 5 Vs Samsung Galaxy S3: Advertising Battle On
Soon after the launch of Apple iPhone 5 On September 12, the top selling mobile in the US – Samsung Galaxy S3 battled with an ad in print media making a direct comparison with the Apple’s best ever iPhone yet, the iPhone 5.
The ad which is titled, “It doesn’t take a genius” is directly targeting Apple Retail Store Geniuses, and ends with the statement “The next big thing is already here” referring the Galaxy S3.
The ad actually lists out all the specs and features side by side. It doesn’t list out the software features of iOS except Siri, whereas, on the Galaxy S3 side, there are loads of more features listed, making it a one sided ad.
The specs themselves are slightly misleading. The 2 GB RAM that is specified is available only in the Japanese version of the Galaxy S3, while most of the selling models in the US come with 1 GB of RAM.
The pixel comparison is also one sided. Galaxy S3 obviously has a larger screen. But in terms with actual Pixel Density, the iPhone 5′s retina display is better than Galaxy S3 by some margin.
A typical apple fan boy has come up with a similar ad poster targeting the Samsung Galaxy S3. The title of this unofficial ad is “Don’t fall for cheap plastic”. With loads of sarcasm, some troll images are shared over Facebook and Twitter.
