Medical Care Is A Joke, Just Ask Us Perpetually Sick People

(Before It's News)

Here we live in the supposedly “wealthiest nation on Earth” with top technology and access to wonders of modern science– and yet as a nation our health is declining, there are more people with mysterious illnesses than ever before, and our lifespan is SHORTER than it was a generation ago, before we had all these wonderful medicines and surgical procedures.

Meanwhile, there is such an upheaval and hue and cry about “Obamacare” when anyone with any sense can see that it doesn't matter what medical system is in place- there is simply not going to be expanded health care for ANYONE soon.

Finally, someone wrote about something I've been bitching about to myself for years, my favorite curmudgeon, James Howard Kunstler:

WORTH A READ–> kunstler.com/blog/2012/07/hostage-racket.html

He points out the obvious (or at least what is obvious to me.) I enjoy reading about his utter disgust with doctors who refused to take his complaints about his symptoms seriously. He had to diagnose himself (something all doctors claim we mere non-medical types have no business doing) and everything pointed to metal poisoning, likely by his hip replacement device– yet no doctor would test him. NOT EVEN TEST! So he went to an non-conventional type and had a toxic screening run and guess what-? Yeah, you know it– he was right. Yet even THAT doctor tried to force an unnecessary antibiotic regimen on him because that was his specialty area.

I have have a roaring bitch against the medical establishment since the 80s when I first came down with whatever it is that is wrong with my body. I got it after having MONO, and my body never ran right after that. I've had prolonged flare periods where I was reduced to living in bed or a wheelchair, and I've had prolonged remissions (like now) but even during remissions, I have limitations I must respect. But I've yet to come across a doctor I could afford who would back me entirely. Every test I've had run came about because I insisted it be run, and sometimes I've had to go doctor to doctor to get it done, just like Kunstler did– because doctors don't serve their patients anymore, they serve business-model medical monstrosities that do whatever it takes to wring a profit from human suffering.

And, just like all the other overly-bloated and yet barely functioning institutions in this world– that medical monster is going to come crashing down along with the rest of the nearly useless for-profit industries. I can't say that I shall mourn the loss of it. Yeah, maybe we won't have these “miracle” drugs and “miracle” surgeries as often, but we'll get something else back that we've been missing in our healing– a healer without an INDUSTRY behind him. Someone who listens to patients and either tries to help them get better, or eases their suffering as they transition out of life. I would far rather have a doctor who listened to me, respected what I had to say, and genuinely CARED than all the machines and chemicals in the world. When it comes to quality of life issues, what we have now medically is taking away from that, and most people are too scared and used to the status quo to understand this simple fact.

Every time I go to a doctor (unless its for a simple infection or flu or something) I steal myself for a massive confrontation. Since my teens at least, I've had to go to war just to be heard over ANYthing regarding my body. And I'm tired of it and I have no intention of supporting the massive load of crap its all become.

However, looking ahead, I'm glad I'm well-versed on things like nutrition and general health, and I'm further satisfied that I've taken it upon myself to learn about natural healing. Most illnesses and injury issues do not require thousands of dollars to address, and some natural remedies are not only cheaper, but easier to access than modern drugs. There will be an awkward transition period, though, where anyone who has any helpful healing knowledge may be needed. Good to be one of those people if you have a knack for it. Because of my lifelong health issues, I've developed a knack for listening to people, giving a damn, and having a store of knowledge for possible helpful actions or remedies. This may come in handy later. In the meantime, it doesn't hurt me at all.
