Following the launch of Galaxy Note 5 and its dual-edged variant, Samsung has launched another high-end phone with an incredible set of specs. Dubbed as SM-G9198, the new smartphone or you can Flip has been unveiled in Chinese market. The device passed through TENAA in early-july, and sports a dual displays on the front as well on the back.
The new Samsung SM-G9198 flip phone comes with the same set of specs as featured on the TENAA listing. It sports two 3.9-inch HD Super AMOLED displays, protected by Gorilla Glass 4, and powers up by Snapdragon 808 chipset with six cores clocked at 1.8 GHz, clubbed with 2GB of RAM. It’s one of the most powerful Flip-phone, and flaunts a brilliant look with two sharp ultra-resistant displays as on other high-end smartphones rolling in the market.
As far as camera capabilities are concerned, the new flip phone boasts a 16-megapixel rear autofocus shooter with f/1.9 aperture and a superb 5-megapixel front-facing snapper. It’s the same camera setup from Galaxy S6, and is perfectly complimented 16 gigs built-in storage. Whether it’s a daylight or lowlight shot, this device looks good enough to take brilliant snaps with great quality. It runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out-of-the box with TouchWiz skin, and packs prolific performance with no lags or glitches.
On the connectivity front, the new Samsung Flip phone packs standard support with options like, GPRS/EDGE, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4G LTE, and micro-USB. Its compatibility with LTE bands in India has not been detailed, but extremely smooth and lag-free browsing will certainly stand as an essential highlight of this phone for standard and core users. It also features a big bunch of sensors, and is perfectly backed by a decent 2020mAh battery.
Since China is the only country where Flip phones are a thing, the launch of Samsung SM-G9198 outside Chinese market is not expected anytime soon. Earlier, this model number was speculated for Galaxy S6 Mini, but as of now, all those rumors have been discarded with the launch of this device. Few weeks before, LG launched its powerful Wine Smart flip phone in global arena, but as of now, anything is not expected from the South Korean tech giant.
